Each assembly program is forty five
minutes long and designed to educate and entertain
grades K-6. Programs are priced the same except
for Family Night shows. If your school has 450 or
more students, Jeff's programs are more effective
when the school is split in half. This is
particularly true with Magic Around the World
and Science Magic, where the posters and
experiments are not as visible from long distances.
However, if your budget doesn't allow this, invite
the whole school.
You Supply the Students, Jeff Does the Rest
EduMazement Assemblies may be the easiest programs you'll
host! Jeff travels with everything necessary
for his performances, including tables, backdrop,
and a sound system. (It's a good idea to have a stand
microphone set up for the principal or assembly planner to
use.)
To make your job as
easy as possible, custom fliers let kids know
about the special program in advance. The assembly coordinator
receives a fun-to-read introduction. Afterwards, each teacher
receives a free Class Activity Sheet to help transfer the excitement
from the assembly back to the classroom.
The only drawback? You may feel guilty taking all the
credit for the success!
Tips for an effective
performance:
- Arrange seating with the
younger kids towards the front and older
students towards the back.
- Keep an aisle down the center
to make it easier to bring volunteers up and
display certain items.
- Have the principal, teacher,
or PTA member to introduce Jeff (written
introduction provided).
- Light the performing area
well.
- Let those who typically use
the performance area know about the special
program in advance (i.e., PE teachers and
cafeteria staff ). Part of the performance
area will be off-limits during set-up and
take-down for the assembly.
